Majorca is the largest of the Balearic island group belonging to Spain. Flying to Majorca means flying in to the Son Sant Joan Airport (also known as Palma Airport). There are many places to choose from in Majorca when you’re planning your holiday. The island capital Palma is a stylish and sophisticated city bursting with life, and about half of Majorca’s resident population live here. Alcudia to the north of the island (about 65 kilometres from Palma) has an eight kilometre long white sandy beach as well as a waterpark that is second to none. As a whole, Majorca has been inhabited since before the middle ages, and in the caves near Soller they’ve discovered traces of habitation that date from the Paleolithic period of 6000- 4000 BC.
